Mixed Sampling Method

It is a sampling method which includes both probability and non-probability sampling techniques. According to the Gupta and Gupta (2011) quoted that mixed sampling is one which has the characteristics of both random and non-random sampling designs. Generally, a mixed sampling method is different from mixed-method sampling. If the sampling technique is used mixed method research or study (quantitative plus qualitative) is called mixed-method sampling. For example, if I want to collect sample from higher secondary school student's population of a state. first, I select the schools randomly and select the students purposively in the randomly selected schools. This sampling method includes both probability (random) and non-probability (purposive). Its especially called a random purposive sample or broadly called a mixed sample. It is entirely different from the double sampling and multistage sampling techniques. These are coming under probability sampling and each of the sampling process must be included randomization. A mixed sampling method may be used single population and more than one population. It is mostly fit for the double population.
